My first real blog

i came to the realisation 2 minutes ago, while reading a few other peoples blogs, that mine is pretty much a waste of space. my short paragraphs really have no meaning. so whats stopping me writing a real blog? NOTHING!

the whole indie scene really pisses me off. everyones trying to be independent or individual and do their own thing, but how is following everyone else being individual? its really just another excuse for a few boneheads to feel part of something. the fashion is stupid as well, it just looks uncomfortable and a little bit stupid. and saying as many long words as you can in one sentence really makes you sound like a tool.

im a bit confused at what subjects too choose next year. should i choose advanced or standard english? i know that if i do advanced i will probably go alright, possibly below average, maybe around the bottom of the class. and i dont really like the work you do in standard, it seems like a lot of work and not much play. but if i choose standard i will probably go reasonably good, maybe around the top of the class? who knows, all i really want to do is skate and surf, but chances of me making a career out of those things are dismal. extremely low.

maybe i could write a book.

i really should be doing my science and PDH assignments right now.

personal opinion

personal opinion

LIFE vol. 1

first post on something other than music.
i now skate a shitload more than i bodyboard, and in some eyes this may be bad. even in my eyes. but deep down i know i dont really care, im content with the way things are now. i still bodyboard most weekends, when the surf looks worth going out in. but most of the time i cant be bothered so i go for a skate instead. i get the same adrenilan rush anyway. i dont know where i am going for this so i will just leave it at that.

i hate you and your V neck shirt

i hate indie fashion, indie music, indie anything! they focus so much on how the look that the music looses its meaning. just putting it out there, but how much time do you reckon the average indie person spends looking in the mirror? id say twice as much as a normal person. the truth is i dont hate it, i dont hate anything because im not a hateful kinda guy, but i dispise it and dislike it very much.

BACK TO THAT... THE CLASH

THE CLASH are one of the best punk bands ever. they influenced so many other punk bands and even M.I.A it seems?

it consisted of
Joe Strummer (vocals, rhythm guitar)
Mick Jones (lead guitar)
Paul Simonon (bass)
Nick Headon (drums / percussion)

i could listen to them for 24 hours a day if they had enough songs.

the clash playing White Riot

STRAIGHT TO HELL, PAPER PLANES

i picked this up the other night, the intro to Straight to Hell by The Clash is very similar to the song Paper Planes by M.I.A.
just a pointless observation

and there was even a youtube video about it when i looked it up

BYE BYE BILL McCAI

a very very very sad song by The Coral, i first heard it on the skate movie Zero New Blood and downloaded it, and listened to the lyrics...

THE BEATLES

obviously the best and most significant, influencial band since music was invented. formed in liverpool, 1960. they incorporated so many types of music into their work, and have influenced almost every band since.

the members didnt change the whole time the band was running, and these were -
john lennon (rhythm guitar)
paul mccartney (bass)
george harrison (lead guitar)
ringo starr (drums)

all 4 members took turns of vocals, but most of the time john lennon would sing.
all 4 members also started solo careers when the band broke up, but at the moment only paul mccartney and ringo starr are still remaining.
george died of lung cancer and john lennon was shot by a fuckwit called mark david chapman in 1980. complete and utter asshole/phycopath

2 amazing songs from the beatles, not the best but it is hard to find good videos on youtube. although the second song may be the best in some peoples opinion.

7 Seconds

an american punk band from Nevada. formed in 1980, still going but were obviously better in their youth. they are one of the longest running hardcore punk bands around.

dont know too much about them at the moment, i only started listening to them a few days ago, but so far they have prooved to be solid punk gold.

Another Girl Another Planet

until recently, i thought that Another Girl Another Planet was a song written by Blink 182. but i have found out that it is actually by a band called The Only Ones, and this band, even though they are a decade and a half or so older is amazingly better than blink. not that this would be a hard thing to achieve.

this is the original video to Another Girl Another Planet, gooooood stuff

Sid Vicious

sid vicious is an icon of punk.
he joined the sex pistols after glen matlock was kicked out for 'liking the beatles too much'.
he died of a heroin overdose, shortly after being convicted of murdering his partner, Nancy Spungen. although he was found guilty, it is widely believed the murder was a drug deal gone wrong.

Ramones

The ramones were an amazing punk band which started the punk following in america.
each band member adopted the last name of 'Ramone'
it was founded by:
Joey Ramone (singer)
Johnny Ramone (guitarist)
Dee Dee Ramone (Bassist)

the drummers changed between:
marky
tommy
richie
elvis
(all with the last name of ramone)

a classic video of the ramones playing SHEENA IS A PUNK ROCKER

Sex Pistols

definitely one of the greatest bands of all time, even if they could hardly play instruments.
Johnny Rotten (singer)
Glen Matlock / Sid Vicious (bassist)
Steve Jones (guitarist)
Paul Cook (drummer)
the manager of this band, Malcom Mclaren, died on the 8th of april 2010. he encouraged the sex pistols to swear on public tv and other... stuff

This video shows the sex pistols and members of the band Siousxie and the bandshees on the Bill Grundy Show.

MUSIC

i have dedicated this pointless blog to my music interests.
